First Communion Ideas

The First Communion, is a ceremony held in the Latin Church tradition of the Catholic Church. It is the colloquial name for a person's first reception of the sacrament of the Holy Eucharist, and in Roman Catholic churches occurs typically at age seven to twelve depending on national custom

For the Latin American community, every event is cause of a party and celebration, so the first communion not far behind. After the ecclesiastical ceremony family and friends gather to share lunch and celebrate among food, drink and games that your child receive the sacrament of communion. In this space I want to share some ideas of decor, invitations and favors gifts for a first communion.

Invitations

This will depend on how big will be your party. Otherwise you can only call family and close friends and invite them by phone or in person. Here are some simple ideas for first communion invitations:

Decoration

The decoration depends on the colors that you choose, you can go for the basic colors: blue and/or green for boy and pink and/or purple for a girl. If you want to be a little more risky you can combine colors and use black, gray, white, silver, gold and others. Any idea you have is valid for this type of event. Watch some ideas that I bring you:
  • Centerpieces: You can use crystals, natural flowers, artificial flowers, candles, balloons and candies.

Favors Gifts

After the party is common to deliver some favors with the date and name of the child who did the first communion. You can gift rosaries, cross-shaped key-chains, chocolates, etc.
